Birdwatching, living nature and purpose‐driven tours.
Discover authentic experiences that renew the bond between people and the land.
Explore ExperiencesSacha Expeditions was born from a profound love for nature, birds, and the Mindo community. We are a local ecotourism company committed to offering authentic, sustainable, and transformative experiences.
Behind every tour is the vision of Bryan Sea, a nationally certified tour guide with over six years of experience, an active participant in the Christmas Bird Count, and continually training in conservation.
We are not just tours: we are an invitation to discover Mindo from the inside, creating positive impact and real connections with nature and local culture.
Mindo sits in northwest Ecuador, just two hours from Quito, at the crossroads of the Chocó biogeographic region and the Andean highlands. Between 1,200 and 2,400 m in altitude, this valley hosts a unique biological richness that draws researchers from around the world.
Internationally renowned, Mindo leads each year’s Global Big Day bird count, logging over 500 species in just 24 hours. Many are endemic and endangered, making the valley a key conservation hotspot.
Beyond birds, Mindo’s cloud forest teems with orchids, butterflies, frogs, and mammals. The local community has developed a responsible tourism model blending conservation, environmental education, and authentic experiences.
